Weather Policy

Player safety is our absolute priority. Review our weather procedures and cancellation policies.

Lightning Policy

Sandlot City utilizes advanced lightning detection software. If lightning is detected within an 8-mile radius of the complex, play will be immediately suspended.

  • One long blast of the air horn signals immediate evacuation of the fields.
  • All players, coaches, and spectators must return to their vehicles.
  • Play will not resume until 30 minutes have passed since the last strike within the radius.
  • Three short blasts of the air horn signal the all-clear to return to the fields.

Rain & Field Conditions

Our infields allow us to play through light to moderate rain. However, if standing water accumulates or conditions become unsafe, the Tournament Director may delay or shorten games. We reserve the right to alter game formats (time limits, innings) to complete the tournament schedule following weather delays.

Cancellation & Refunds

In the event a tournament is completely rained out or severely shortened, our refund policy applies:

  • 0 Games Played: 100% credit or 80% refund (20% admin fee kept)
  • 1 Game Played: 50% credit or refund
  • 2+ Games Played: No refunds or credits (Tournament is considered complete)
